Getting junk leads from Meta ads? Here's the fix

Why it happens
Meta's job is to get you the result you asked for, cheaply. Ask for "leads" and it finds people who fill forms. Easily. Lots of them tap without reading, or forget they did it.
So the problem usually isn't Meta. It's the setup.
Five fixes that work
- Use the higher-intent form. It adds a review step. Fewer finish, but they mean it.
- Ask one real question. "When are you planning to buy?" with set options filters the time-pass crowd.
- Don't let everything auto-fill. Making people confirm their number cuts accidental leads.
- Reply in five minutes, not five hours. Instant WhatsApp, then a call.
- Tell Meta which leads were good. Send quality signals back through your CRM or the Conversions API so it learns who to find.
What to expect
Cost per lead goes up a bit. That's fine. Cost per real customer is the number that matters, and that usually goes down.
Count site visits, answered calls and sales. Not form fills.
Quick questions
Is a landing page better than an instant form?
Often, for bigger purchases. People who read a page first are usually more serious. Test both with the same budget for two weeks.
How many questions should a lead form have?
Two or three. Name, phone and one qualifying question is a solid start.
