Why boosting feels good

You tap a button, pick a budget, and by evening your post has 3,000 views. Lovely. Then nobody calls.

Why it rarely sells

  • The goal is usually engagement. So Meta finds people who like things. Professionally.
  • Targeting is basic. Fewer controls than Ads Manager.
  • No proper tracking. You can't see what turned into a lead.

Do this instead

  1. Open Ads Manager, not the boost button.
  2. Choose a goal that matches what you want: Leads, Messages or Sales.
  3. Install the Meta Pixel on your website and test it.
  4. Run three to five ads, not one.
  5. Judge them on cost per enquiry, after a week.

When boosting is fine

Got an event tomorrow and just need people to see it? Boost away. Just don't call it marketing strategy at the next family function.

Quick questions

Is boosting ever worth it?

For quick awareness of an event or announcement, sometimes. For leads and sales, Ads Manager with a proper goal works better.

How much should I spend to test ads properly?

Enough to get 20 to 30 results in two to four weeks. Fewer than that and you are guessing.
